Blinkx AdHoc
No commentsBlinkx Adhoc is a new video advertising platform that will let you as a publisher, take the embed code of any of the videos online like on YouTube and Google Video, and others, and place them one your website with a related advertisement embedded in the video. You earn money when someone clicks on the ad.
As an advertiser you are only paying per click and they state that:
“Our clever technology matches relevant, in-video text ads to any video.”
We’ll we are going to test this out and see what happens. Below is an ad I picked out to use for the test.
As you can see I picked some funny cat outtakes. How relevant is the ad compared to the video being played or the content on this page?
Please comment what you see so I can get an idea of the effectiveness of their backend that is matching the ads.
I’ll update this later as I play around a little more with the video ads.
Google is Buying Jaiku
No commentsFrom the Jaiku homepage:
“While it’s too soon to comment on specific plans, we look forward to working with our new friends at Google over the coming months to expand in ways we hope you’ll find interesting and useful. Our engineers are excited to be working together and enthusiastic developers lead to great innovation. We look forward to accomplishing great things together. In order to focus on innovation instead of scaling, we have decided to close new user sign-ups for now.”
What does this mean for Twitter and Pownce?
Jaiku has put together a quick Q&A about the acquisition here: http://www.jaiku.com/help/google
No doubt it will be part of the new Google Phone…
MySpace founders Chris DeWolfe And Tom Anderson interviewed on the NBC Today Show
No commentsWhile working I overheard an interview taking place on the tube (flat panel) and thought it may interest some of my readers. So for those of you that are not aware of the reach or the user base of MySpace then the video is definitely recommended reading. One thing that caught my attention was that over 85% of the users are over the age 18. It is also the fastest growing website with over 1oo million users worldwide. They were some more facts that I cannot remember of the top of my head so you’ll just have to watch it.
Now after you watch it, you should ask yourself is “is their a potentiol to find new markets on social networks such as myspace”?
I couldn’t resist so I went ahead and did a few searches on MySpace and these are the results:
Results 1 - 10 of about 548 for real estate charlotte nc.
Results 1 - 10 of about 3,320 for truck accessories
TV networks and movie studios are also paying attention. Look at how Myspace will allow the main homepage be an advertisement.
If you dedicate the time I am sure you could find some possibilities that would be worth pursuing.
Watch the video, check it out for yourself and come to your own conclusions.

Google has Gone Social
No commentsYou can now share news stories with others easily as you would with Technorati, Reddit and others. It is not showing the video embedded in the share page just yet, but I can put money on it that it is just a matter of time. I tried it with a youtube share and it just shows a link to the video.
