Google Moon is launched

Google Moon

How long will it be before we need roadmaps for the moon? Google is now serving up map maps of the moon. You can view the landing spots of the lunar missions and more.

I have always wondered if you could see the flag that was put there on the first mission.

Google Patners with the X PRIZE Foundation

Welcome | X PRIZE Foundation

Google Joins forces with the X Prize Foundation:

It has been many decades since we explored the Moon from the lunar surface, and it could be another 6 - 8 years before any government returns. Even then, it will be at a large expense, and probably with little public involvement.

The Google Lunar X PRIZE seeks to create a global private race to the Moon that excites and involves people around the world and, accelerates space exploration for the benefit of all humanity. The use of space has dramatically enhanced the quality of life and may ultimately lead to solutions to some of the most pressing environmental problems that we face on earth – energy independence and climate change.

Adwords is now showing the Geographical Preference of the Campaign.

If you haven’t noticed yet, Google is now showing the geographical preference of the campaign displaying the Keyword. If you do a search for Charlotte NC and look at the ads you will see some have Charlotte, NC under the ad.

Adwords Geotargeting

If you have the campaign preference set to certain cities then it will go ahead and show that as well as regional preferences. You can view both in action in a New York Job Search

There are a number of reasons why Google is doing this and I will not go into them at this time. For right we’ll just be making sure we have all our campaigns geographically targeted correctly.

Back to work.

Hey all, I know I have not posted a lot during the summer months but I promise to make it up to you. I have been extremely busy acquiring new clients during the summer and taking on new projects. I would say the highlight though would be being able to spend the whole summer with my 3 girls. Granted I am happy school has started back but it was fun for all of us.

I have a lot of ideas and news items I want to write/blog about so stay tuned in. Some of the topics I would like to discuss:

1. Google is making changes to it’s top placement algorithms: Pay us more and we will rank you higher.2
2. DKI (Dynamic Keyword Insertion) Tips and Tricks for you campaigns. But be careful while it can improve your CTR dramatically it can lower your conversion ratio just the same.
3. When will we see regional and eventually locally Google’s? It is just a matter of time and I will explain why.
4. Are we falling behind in ecommerce adoption worldwide and what will happen if we do not open up FCC regulated spectrums to allow for affordable broadband Internet access for all?
5. Google is indexing faster than we can post. What if we had indexing as fast as we typed?

So stay tuned I am getting back to work :)
