Follow or not to follow, we follow.

U Comment I Follow. We have officially joined the movement. The U comment I follow movement is a bunch of bloggers that has removed the no follow restrictions in their blogs. So when you go and comment at one of these blogs you are rewarded with a “follow” link back to your blog. Thus giving you credit for taking the time to read the story and comment on it.

How hard is it to remove the nofollow restrictions from your blog? Not as hard as you think. Andy Beard has a really good list of plugins called the Ultimate List of DoFollow Plugins that you can download that will remove the nofollow restriction. We are using the Dofollow plugin for Wordpress. Once you remove the nofollow restriction download a cool I Follow logo showcasing that your blog follows. Randa has developed 5 flavors of the log but we choose this one for our blog.

I Follow

Be sure to notify me and I will add you to our D list. Feel free to comment as well, we’ll follow :)

Great post… great resource. Hey, is grabbing the u comment I follow image and hosting it on my own server recommended to join the cause?

    Divva,

Yes, grabbing the image “after” you have removed your no follow attributes in your blog. Once you have removed the attributes Randa Clay has several ufollow images on his website for you to use.

I believe this one applies “Unless each man prodiuses more than he receives, increases his output, there will be less for him than all the others”, doesn’t it?

So since you went dofollow, do you feel that the increase in traffic and comments pays for the extra time spent moderating comments?

There is an awful lot of spam coming in now. I’m still evaluating right now, hopefully it will be.
